I'm back!

Returning from the pistes of the French Alps has left me with an appetite for going down steep things at speed. There are two reasons for this... One is Aiguille Rouge Glacier... a 2000m black run descent, where you go fast or you don't bother. The second reason is the Apocolypse Snow Park at Les Arcs, which made me try things that I probably would have held back on had I been riding a bike, due largely to the soft landing afforded by fresh powder snow... Oh and all the onlooking snowboarders who didn't think skiiers can do jumps. How wrong they were!

So here I am back in Angleterre, with a view to doing a good deal more riding in 2006. The new Marzocchi suspension on the Rockhopper, which I still haven't fully tested, will now have a chance to prove itself. I might even spend some money on some new pads for the disc brakes, although the massive 205mm front rotor would be vicious with all that extra bite.

Then again if I had a full susser I probably wouldn't need brakes...
