Yesterday was a PROPER bike ride! Awesome day out.
We arrived on schedule ish, and with the usual delays we headed off about 12. A clear, but cold day, but we soon warmed up with the tesco steps the first hurdle. Though some old cUnt tried to elbow me off my bike en route. His elbow now hurts, my bike doesn't! Old people.....get over it!
After the steps we hit a DH section, then more steps and jumps and then the real fun began. Testing the bike out on ~10ft drops was great fun. Still, I managed my first crash on my new steed! Soft landing, all good! As the day went on, Jimbo and Tez seemed determined to find something a step further for the beast. And boy we did! Phil tried it first off, what a hero, though the buckled front wheel maybe proves his line choice needs working on! Good effort though! With that in mind i went for it, after all, i'm not going to pay all that money and not use the beasts 'talents'! First off i ended up sliding down sideways as I'd got on the brakes and the sandstone wasn't having it! I was fearing for the bike more than me though! Second time out I nailed it after some long thought! The buzz from nailing that was something I've never felt before, truly awesome!
The rest of the day continued with some good jumps and stunts from all, and on the long cycle home, my legs killed, the stinky is not an athlete, its a hardcore weight lifter! Still, managed a jump off from a section of 7or8 steps. Photos are tops (though.....maybe get those able to use the stills camera trying to 'snap' me when doing stunts!), and hopefully some good footage for the next dvd.
Great day out, I'm now pushing the boundaries of me and the new bike, but it just gives me so much confidence.....awesome. Who's next for full susser........re-in-f*cking-state!
